let's connect
The Austin-San Antonio super-region, one of the fastest-growing economic corridors in the United States, faced critical growth milestones approaching 2050. Regional leaders recognized the need for collaborative strategies that address shared challenges while leveraging collective opportunities across the diverse jurisdictions, sectors, and stakeholder groups. The Austin Area Research Organization (AARO) needed a systematic approach to understand leadership perspectives on regional priorities and identify areas where collaboration could drive the greatest impact across both metropolitan areas.
CivicSol designed and implemented a comprehensive leadership engagement initiative that captured insights from 355 regional leaders across both metropolitan areas. Using a highly curated, strategic survey approach, our team engaged decision-makers from diverse sectors including government, nonprofit organizations, education, healthcare, and business to share perspectives on local and regional priorities.
The engagement process focused on key areas including infrastructure, social services, education, workforce development, and quality of life—highlighting priorities that leaders identified for future investment and regional alignment. Our analysis revealed both the nuances and commonalities across the Austin and San Antonio regions, providing AARO with a solid foundation for strategic planning and identifying shared challenges and values that offer a roadmap for coordinated policies responsive to both local needs and regional ambitions.
CivicSol's leadership analysis provided AARO with essential intelligence for strategic planning that aligns priorities among regional stakeholders and creates pathways for coordinated policy development. The survey findings equipped regional leaders with a clear understanding of where collaborative investment can drive maximum impact across jurisdictional boundaries. This work demonstrates how systematic stakeholder engagement can reveal opportunities for regional collaboration that strengthens economic competitiveness while addressing shared challenges across major metropolitan areas.
